Software Developer’s Personal Experience Sparks ‘Better Way’ of Keeping in Touch With Patient Families

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The challenges that Nathan Loding had in communicating with friends and family during his daughter’s chemotherapy treatment for a rare disease has resulted in the development of a secure website to help others.
Loding, who is a software developer with OST, a global business technology firm, saw a perfect fit in helping others.
Today, CareCircle, which is wholly-owned and operated by OST, is a reality, having been launched in September.
With a previously popular patient communications website—CarePages—ceasing operation in 2017, the timing was right given many health systems looking for a safe, reliable solution to replace that platform.
Loding said during his daughter’s treatment, he saw the existing platforms for communication either lacked the privacy or functionality needed.
“I knew there was a better way and that OST was uniquely positioned to make it a reality,” he added. “That’s how the idea for CareCircle was born.”
CareCircle, which is subscription-based, can be branded to work with a health system to offer a “plug-and-play” patient experience tool.
Officials say a nationally recognized hospital system is expected to announce its use of CareCircle.
