Director of Financial Operations
Kate Harms joined OST as the Director of Financial Operations in early 2017. Kate began her career in public accounting where she assisted clients with accounting and tax work as well as software implementations. It was during this time that Kate also obtained her CPA license. After her time in public accounting, Kate joined the law firm of Smith Haughey Rice & Roegge, headquartered in Grand Rapids, MI, where she ultimately became their CFO. Just prior to joining OST, Kate was the CFO and Vice President of Finance for a third party benefit company, specializing in the administration of self-funded medical plans.
Kate received her B.S. in Accountancy from Calvin College and her MBA from Ferris State University. For a number of years Kate served on the Ferris State MBA advisory board where she assisted with the development of curriculum for the business school. Recently, she joined the Grand Valley State University Finance Advisory board whose focus is advancing the education and experience of students prior to entering the business community. Kate is also a member of the Development and Engagement Committee for the Grand Rapids Civic Theatre.
