OST Partners with Kent County Health Department on KeepMIHealthy, a COVID-19 response initiative

OST assists Kent County in developing a survey to help healthcare professionals better assess Michigan resident’s health

Grand Rapids, MI – May 8, 2020 – OST, a business and IT consulting firm, worked with the Kent County Health Department to build Keep MI Healthy, an online screening survey allowing Michigan residents to voluntarily and anonymously report their COVID-19 symptoms. The entire survey takes less than two minutes for residents to fill out and the data collected assists healthcare professionals in identifying potential future COVID-19 “hot spots”.

The survey collects general demographic information and allows residents to select any current symptoms that they may be experiencing due to COVID-19. Any resident who decides to participate in the survey will be kept anonymous and their results will be kept in a secure database. Healthcare professionals are asking residents to fill out the quick survey, available in English and Spanish, once a day in order to accurately estimate the current state of health in Michigan as it relates to COVID-19.

“It has been a privilege to be able to support the KeepMIHealthy initiative. Being able to use our talents, time, and resources to support a much needed tool has felt great during this challenging time,” said Meredith Bronk, CEO of OST. “Today, much of the data that is available is based on actual COVID-19 testing, which is very targeted. We learned that broad collection of some basic demographic data to supplement general health screening, including both those who are feeling well and those who may have symptoms, may assist health officials in tracking COVID-19 in Michigan.”

Due to the importance of this survey, OST built a secure platform to host it on in less than 10 days – and it is now available to be filled out by anyone currently residing in the state of Michigan. The survey is available to be completed in English or you can complete the survey in Spanish. Upon completion, residents are able to provide their mobile phone number to receive a daily text reminder to take the survey.

“OST was a great partner in helping us turn the KeepMiHealthy community health screening concept into a reality,” said Kent County Health Department Director Dr. Adam London. “OST volunteered their time and working with community partners, quickly developed an easy-to-use and effective screening tool.”
