Priority Health operates as a health insurance company offering managed-care health plans, employer group health insurance plans, and Medicare approved plans. They service nearly 8,000 employers in 55 counties in MI with approx. 500,000 members and more than 12,000 health care providers.

Aging infrastructure was not being replaced in a systematic fashion and therefore incurring excessive support costs in their production environment. Priority needed to migrate to newer, more capable and power-efficient systems and to develop a process to ensure lifecycle compliance.

Partnered with HP Financial Services to employ a “funding consolidation” lease model to allow Priority to systematically roll off old systems, onto newer consolidated bladed infrastructure.

Dramatically reduced maintenance and power expenses, increased reliability, reclaimed data center space and established a model for efficient lifecycle management with minimal cost increases compared to prior maintenance expenses.
