| Customer Profile | The Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa & Chippewa Indians own the Grand Traverse resort, and Tuttle Creek and Leelanau Casinos. Grand Traverse resort has a 900-acre resort property and is one of the Midwest's finest full-service, year-round, resorts and conference destinations. It offers 600 rooms, suites, and condominiums, 86,500 square feet of versatile function space, 54 holes of championship golf including The Bear, designed by Jack Nicklaus, and The Wolverine — a Gary Player signature golf course. The Casinos feature over 1700 Slot Machines and a grand selection of table games including: Craps, Roulette, 3-Card Poker, Blackjack and the latest virtual table games. |
| The Challenge | Bally Technologies player tracking application was being upgraded for the Casinos, this application had a high performance requirement using Windows SQL and a dozen application servers. The Bally group was recommending EMC for the storage platform. This was not cost effective for Grand Traverse. Grand Traverse asked OST to provide a high performance system that they could share with the VMware environment. Grand Traverse also required Disaster Recovery as part of the solution. |
